India's cleanest city set itself a hard target: clear and modernise a strained sewer network ahead of the monsoon. Here's how the right combination of jetting and suction equipment made the timeline possible.
Indore has earned its reputation for cleanliness through relentless operational discipline. But beneath the streets, an ageing sewer network needed serious attention — and the clock was ticking towards monsoon season, when blocked drains turn into flooded roads.
The Challenge
The network combined old brick sewers, newer concrete lines, and varying pipe diameters. Some sections were heavily silted; others had hardened deposits that ordinary jetting couldn't shift. A one-size-fits-all approach would have failed.
Project Snapshot
- Mixed network: brick, concrete, and varied diameters
- Combination jetting + suction units deployed
- Target: monsoon-ready in under 6 months
- Operator training and AMC included in the package
The Equipment Strategy
We deployed combination units that pair high-pressure water jetting with powerful vacuum suction. The jetting breaks up and dislodges deposits; the suction immediately evacuates the loosened material into a holding tank. This single-pass approach is far faster than separate jetting and manual removal.
The fastest sewer cleaning isn't about more pressure. It's about jetting and suction working in the same pass, on the same machine.
Matching Pressure to Pipe
Our operators adjusted jet pressure section by section — higher PSI for hardened concrete-line deposits, gentler settings for older brick sewers that could be damaged by aggressive jetting. This is where operator training pays for itself.
The Outcome
The network was cleared ahead of the monsoon window. Just as importantly, the city gained in-house operating capability through our training programme and a multi-year AMC that keeps the equipment running at peak performance.
